The meaning of the word listening is to pay attention to sound or action. Listening is an apparently simple activity, but it consists of several complex processes. First, there are affective processes. These include the motivation to listen to others.
Cognitive and behavioral processes also play a role at the same time. Cognitive processes are about understanding, receiving and interpreting the content and behavioral processes are about responding to others through verbal and non-verbal communication.
